Howard University graduate, Former Journalist & the Founder of Melanin On The Map was always destined for a career in travel.

 

Growing up first-generation American, with parents of Caribbean descent, a love for culture and new exotic destinations was something she discovered early on. Spending her childhood in her hometown of Queens, New York with constant travels to her parents home countries of Dominica & Jamaica; the wanderlust urge set in, and was STUCK FOR LIFE!

Fast forward to her college years, she attended, Howard University and her move to Washington D.C. only increased her desire to explore the world even more. Her sophomore year, she took a year to study abroad through Spain, studying Spanish and Sociology. There she connected with various fellow travel lovers across the pond and further explored Italy, Morocco and London before making her way back to the states. Those 12 months, changed her entire perspective and made it her mission to launch a travel brand/business in the years to come.

 

 By 25, she would've already visited over 10 countries as she began her Journalism/ Producer career straight out of college.

After working for her dream media brands such as : ESSENCE Magazine, Xo Necole, Ebony Magazine, Hollywood Reporter & Billboard, she put down her pen as a Journalist & Producer to become a full-time Entrepreneur.

In July of 2019, she launched Melanin On the Map, the FIRST Travel App dedicated to minority travelers. Melanin On The Map serves as a vessel of connecting minority travel lovers to one another, while simultaneously showing all, how to monetize from travel. 

​

Since launching she's organically grown her MOTM community to over 40,000 travel lovers, across the globe.

With her passion for travel, culture and community she aims to change the face of minority travel and take Melanin On The Map WORLDWIDE!
